Create Subtitles from audio function crashes Resolve

I try to create subtitles from timeline, and every time I try, it either hands a few seconds before finishing, or just goes idle and I need to force quit Resolve to be able to use the program. Any idea anyone how I can work around this problem?
I am having to create a transcription of the timeline, export it as srt and then import that as a subtitle, which seems to sort of work. I can then create the subtitles, but why do I need to do this workaround in the first place?
