Does checkerboard take into account VX applied on the track

hi, have been trying out the checkerboard AI functionality a few times now (it's not perfect yet), but haven't been able to figure out whether it takes into account applied VX's on the audio track or not.
I have several recordings of lectures with sometimes faint audio in the background when people from the assistance intervene.
Applying VX of different kinds on the audio track to make the voices more clearly audible and launching checkerboard AI to differentiate the speakers more easily doesn't seem to make any qualitative difference compared to launching the checkerboard function without applying the VX beforehand.
So does checkerboard take VX effects into account or not ?
