Multiple download issues
Posted: Thu Apr 24, 2025 3:45 pmI have never used Davinci before and therefore used newly created tutorials to follow download instructions. Although I kept running into issues.
After extracting the file and running as administrator I go to download these parts:
Visual C++ 2013 x64 Redistributable
Visual C++ 2013 x86 Redistributable
Blackmagic RAW Player
None of the above work and I consistently get a failed to install message.
I looked it up and decided to just try and keep downloading.
I then came to the process of downloading DaVinci Resolve 19.1.4.0011 and it all worked great until the end.
I get the message: "Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\ResolveDrpFile\shell\open\command. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personal"
I've checked and looked everywhere and I do have sufficient access to the key and no reboot or such fixes it.
I then asked ChatGPT for help and tried opening Regedit to manually do it. But after \Classes, the file \ResolveDrpFile did not exist.
I then went to advanced permissions for the \Classes file and did as many sites would tell about changing owner permissions and such to then get this message "Registry Editor could not set security in the selected key or some of its subkeys."
I am lost. I have never had such bad issues and I cannot explain why. I bought this pc and for multiple years have never experienced this. Please help and if so explain it in a way I can try to follow. Thanks!
