Does anyone have this same issue of not being able to find the AI Music Editor in Inspector? Is there something I'm not doing right or some setting not set? I need some help please.

Hi

A. Are you on Resolve Studio? Do you see Voice Isolation on the inspector for the same audio clip?
B. If you have a linked video audio selection, can you right click and uncheck the Link Clips in the timeline and select just the audio?

Thanks
Shrinivas

Shrinivas, the AI Music Editor seems to have disappeared from the Inspector in Studio 20 beta 2 and is nowhere to be found.

Having said that I opened a different project and it is there underneath Speed Change. It does not appear if you select an embedded audio clip in a linked or unlinked audio track.

Shrinivas Ramani,

In response to your questions above.

A. Yes, I’m on Resolve Studio. When I downloaded the public Beta, I first downloaded the ‘free’ version and saw that the AI Music Editor was missing in the Inspector, so I then installed the Studio version of the Beta and got the same result. I do not see ‘Voice Isolation’ in the Inspector when the audio clip is selected.
B. The audio clip that I’m using is not linked to the video clip. It is an MP3 audio clip that downloaded from AudioIO.com so there shouldn’t be an issue.

The picture shows what I see when I open the Inspector tab on any project in the public Beta 2. I have tried old projects and starting new ones as well. All configurations produce the same result for me.

Charles Bennett,

What is an embedded audio clip? The audio clip that I'm using is one that was downloaded from ArtlistIO. It's a standalone clip and not linked to any video clip.

Hi Matt, Charles,

Thanks for your feedback.

Please do the following:
Export your project as a DRP file,
Grab a screenshot of your entire app window,
Add both files to a file share service and share a link here.

In short, the Music Editor is useful when you're fitting a music track to existing video. There are scenarios with linked video and audio where the tracks are (presumably) already in sync and using the Music Editor is undesirable, as it can rearrange the music to be out of sync. You can force the Music Editor for these scenarios by right clicking the pair, unlinking the clips and selecting only the audio.

We will take a look to see if there are issues in other scenarios.

Thanks
Shrinivas

Beta.0.2 Hi, i've tried AI Music Editor it's working on a .MP3 but not on a .WAV
I transcode the working MP3 in WAV it's working. I transcode the not working WAV in MP3 it's working too.
So i don't understand what is wrong with the wav that the composer send to me. :?

All,

I was able to get the AI Music to show up in the Inspector tab. All I had to do was... completely uninstall Davinci Resolve from my computer and then reinstall the Public Beta 2 back on my computer. lol .... I understand that this is not a 'fix' because it seems that more than myself is finding this issue. The issue for why just updating from Davinci Resolve 19 to the Public Beta 2 was not a smooth transition is where the problem must be solved. I have faith in the fine folks over at Blackmagic to resolve this problem before rollout. Best of luck everyone!

Hi Charles

In your project's timeline,
• I can click on any of the clips in tracks A1-A6 (the WAV files) and see the option for the Music Editor in the inspector.
• I can click on the other clips (MP4 files in tracks A7-A9 with linked video) and not see the option.
• I can right click an .MP4 clip, uncheck Linked Clips, select just the audio portion and see the Music option again.
Please tell me if this fits with your observation. See my comments above for why this is so.

Hi Matt
Your links are not accessible. Glad you got beta 2 installed and running again. Please let us know if you have other issues.

Regards
Shrinivas

Thanks for getting back to me, Shrinivas. If I click on any of the clips in A7, A8, or A9, which are the embedded audio of the video clips, the Music Editor does not appear. The clips are unlinked and unmuted. I've tested other projects as well and the behaviour is the same.
This only occurs with embedded audio.
This could be by design, but there may be times where you import a clip with a music track you want to use separately and apply the Music Editor to it.

Hi Charles

Just to check we're... erm.. on the same page.

I'm in the edit page, I don't have auto-select clip under play head, and I disable the Link Clips property of the clip (not the Linked selection magnet icon in the timeline toolbar - though that shouldn't affect the outcome), by selecting the audio and video clip, right clicking on audio, unchecking the last context menu option, clicking away to deselect both, and selecting audio alone.

Is that what you're doing?

Thanks
Shrinivas

What I'm seeing is that the effect only appears for actual MUSIC clips. An audio file that simply "has music" won't do. It needs to be an actual song file.

I've matched you exactly, Shrinivas and now the Music Editor appears. It doesn't appear if you just use the Link/Unlink icon which stays highlighted when you unlink the clips in the right click context menu.

Not seeing that here ,Jim. I can select a sound effect clip and the Music Editor appears in the Inspector. For instance the highlighted Master Mix track only has music top and tail otherwise it is all fx, and the Music Editor shows in the Inspector.
