Crash upon opening - DR20 Beta 1 and 2

PostFri Apr 25, 2025 4:20 am

I've had an issue with 20B1 and B2 where my DR just crashes when I try and open a project. I can successfully open a project in Read Only mode then switch to another project and be fine, but the first project I try and open during a session, it crashes. When I first installed the beta though, it opened fine. (Well, scratch that, I just tried to open in Read Only to do my usual fix and it still crashed.)

If I launch a project with Task Manager open, it just says "Suspended" when it crashes so something isn't launching right. I've tried with multiple different projects with different kinds of footage and effects. I suspect it has something to do with launching a project with a vertical timeline active.

I'm on 25.3.1 (WHQL) drivers for an AMD RX 6700XT on Windows 10. I've done fresh installs of DR and hoped that B2 would fix it but it did not.

Log screenshots: Red dots in LogC indicate where the crash occurred. I'm going to edit together some screen recording clips (if I can get DR to work) and attach a link in a comment.

Ok, here's a video example showing the crashes in real time and how it eventually started working. Though, it seems to go back to not working the following day after my PC goes to sleep.
Also, the log images above coincide with the timing of the first crash shown in the video.

Great that you made a screen recording! If they can’t reproduce it they’ll need the logs and system description file.

See the FAQ at the top of the forum for details. Kinda buried but they’re there.

Beta 20 1 and 2 (Linux) are having the same issue:
When starting DavRes is asking for optimizing the neural engines. It will show the splash screen "1 to 81..." and after a few seconds DavRes closes and nothing else happens!

In the logs there are problems with the Tensor RT libs.
Please see attached logs!

Same issue here, tried for a while and went back to previous version. I understand it's a beta.
