The station I work at is pretty small (7-8 employees), so AI integration has caught our attention. DR 20 looks terrific for all the new tools. We already use a tool similar to something that will be built-in to the new release.
I get that BM may not have a concrete release date, but do we have a ballpark?
Yeah, I understand that telling us *any* date has negative consequences, but gee wiz.
Curious Dan.
Resolve 19.1.3 build 7 Sequoia 15.3 Mac Studio M2 Max 64GB
For many years in the broadcast TV industry, an oft acknowledged truism was "Announce at NAB, Ship at IBC" ... IBC is in September, so if you need a ballpark, that would be it.
If it helps to know, in recent years, Blackmagic Design's Resolve release has routinely beaten that estimate, but there's no guarantee on these things.
Blackmagic never give advanced information on future updates contents or features, or when the next version, be it a Beta or Final Release, will be made available.
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49 Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.
Is nobody else concerned that BMD are, in essence, now working on Two versions of Resolve? I still cannot believe V20 is in beta when we have only had V19 for a short while.
I think we got up to V18.6 before the beta dropped for V19. I know the standard view is to learn V19 until V20 drops officially, however, that means 6 months of learning one version to have to go and learn the update.
Not for me! V20 is nearly downloaded - gonna spend my time with that, after all, BMD previous beta releases have always been stable (for me at least).
Nick2021 wrote:I doubt they're doing more than bug fixes for 19.
I'm skeptical they're even doing that much. (They typically don't do anything with the Stable once the Beta is released. I recall only one exception since version 12.)
My Biases:
You NEED training. You NEED a desktop. You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
