RE fusion page and media pool

PostMon Apr 28, 2025 2:15 pm

i editing a doc where i use fusion to composite green screen with some picture.
after a bit of work i understand that i need higher resolution version of picture, i used gigapixel to uprez the picture, same place and same name obviously.
and open again resolve, but it keep older size, i should delete from mediapool and add again.
also relink from clip operation not seems to work.
check it please.

Yes, there needs to be a reload option for files in the Media Pool. In the mean time, you can get around this by using a Loader to go directly into the flow on the Fusion Page. The only downside is that the Media is not added to the Media Pool so you have to track you project collection the old fashion way with folders.

I'd also suggest going to Reactor and adding the "Reload Loaders" script that will add a "Reload" button to the Loader tool to make what you're running into easier to deal with.

thanks, i gone with loader like i used on old style with fusion stand alone, but they should enable reload for when we could export again a sequence from 3d, other animation software or like this.
interesting script :-D
thanks a lot

No problem. I put a feature request in for more Media Pool control because of such issues that arise daily when dealing with image sequences/3D.

We have Deep Compositing but no Reload options. What a world.

This has long been an issue for Resolve.

Until things change, your best approach is to always save new versions with a new name on the Media drive, and then perform a Replace operation from the Media Pool.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Hi Jim, yes, I usually do that. However, when I'm working on larger projects involving image sequences—like 3D/2D animation or VFX across different software—it’s quite common to move the original sequence to a different location. Not all software can automatically relink sequences using progressive filenames. For example, in 3D software I can often link external assets using a naming pattern that updates to the latest version automatically, but that's not always the case with other tools.
