Avid Style Bins?

I just got done cutting a feature in Resolve after switching from Avid. I loved being able to work with the camera source files and spit out a full quality render whenever I wanted. One thing I did miss though was the way clips can be arranged and grouped manually in Avid bins.

You could group by scenes, by takes, etc... It was like a free flow canvas where you drag a clip to a spot in the bin and it stays there. Is there anyway to get that functionality in Resolve?

This feature has been added to version 20, now out in Beta.

I just downloaded the Beta 3 on my MacBook to test drive, I can't figure out how to enable this feature. Any ideas?

Go to the … menu in the media pool and change sort by to User.

Thanks Joe!

I couldn't find that exact option, but it got me in the right spot. I ended up changing my "Sort By" menu to custom, then unchecked "Snap to Grid". Works perfect!

Anyone find a RESET button for the custom sort order ? (i.e. for when you totally mess it up and need to start again :) )

EDIT: Not seeing a "reset", but of course it is easy enough to just highlight all the clips and make another bin, pull that up a level, then delete the old one and start "custom sorting" again. This effectively "resets" the custom order.
