Monitoring and Exporting Interlaced from progressive Video

PostTue Apr 29, 2025 9:09 am

Hello everyone

I need to deliver a 4:2:2 HD 1080i 50 MXF-MPEG2 file to a national broadcast station in Switzerland. I am hoping some seasoned pros that deliver to broadcast often can help me with the choice of my workflow:

We shot, edited and graded all footage within a 25p progressive timeline in Davinci Resolve 19. Now when I export, in the delivery tab I would choose "MXF OP1A" as the format and "XDCAM MPEG" as the Codec, check the "interlaced rendering" box (i assume that wouldnt be necessary).

Am I going about this the right way, or will there be artifacts from exporting like this?
Am I seeing what i am delivering in my progressive timeline this way? Especially color correcting and graphics. Or would i need to monitor in a interlaced timeline?

Thanks ahead for any help!
Mischa
