I'm curious what's the largest size videos people are e-mailing these days and getting away with. I want to include a trailer (output from Davinci) in a press kit that would be emailed to hundreds of media outlets and would rather send the actual video than just a link. Or is that a mistake? I've got my file down to 33MB as an H-265.mov so far but can shorten the trailer to cut that to 16MB if that would make a difference. I guess I could use an app like Handbrake to make it smaller, but I would rather keep this entirely in DR if possible.
Depends on the email service provider. Google says it is around 25MB these days.
Whether it is a mistake depends on the perspective of filling other people's mailboxes with (relatively) humongous files. If the people you send the kit to are unable/unwilling to click a link, then send. Personally I'd prefer not to get big files as attachments.
