IntelliScript / Transcription not respecting linked media

PostTue May 06, 2025 10:38 am

I have a pretty basic workflow. One video file + one external audio file, that I sync together based on waveform while setting my media in the first step. The recording is based on a script and contains multiple takes if I mess something up.

I understand that IntelliScript should be able to cut it based on the original script. However what I noticed it does not use the link audio file (external audio), but takes embedded video audio instead (even when that track is removed in clip attributes). Because the quality of that embedded recording is just good enough to sync it with proper audio, transcription of that video file is very poor, and it just doesn't work with IntelliScript.

+1 to this.
For those of us recording audio externally, it means we can't really use intelliscript unless we first replace the entire original clip's audio, export it, then re-import that and use that new file which adds a significant amount of time.

It'd be great if intelliScript could be changed to use the linked audio if present rather than the original clip audio that in many cases will be blank
