I did an update of Arturia FX collection, one of the .1+ type updates. The original VST's ( Compressor Tube I think ) are grayed out. If you open the menu the only options is Delete, Enable but Replace is grayed out and doesn't work. I should be able to replace ! with updated ver and I'll match the settings.

The other bug is the VST names are cut off. Ok, in normal mixer view I get it there is only room for a few chars, but when you click the menu down, the full name of the VST should be visible, which would be very helpful in replacing a missing VST with an appropriate match.

UPDATE: WORSE bug - I deleted the existing grayed out VST, and then navigated the list to Dynmaics>VST>Compressor Tube ( Arturia ). it doesn't load other apply to channel. I guess this is why the original VST's are grayed out - they aren't loading at all

Bug #3 AU's. You can select them, they appear to load, but the UI's can't be opened. They aren't hiding behind the main window, they just aren't opening.

Survey:
Most Arutria FX & Instrumentts don't load. LX24 works, all others didn't
Blue Cat works - maybe. When I opened project it appears this VST ( Flanger Mono ) crashed R instantly out.

Steinberg Groove Agent ( full ver ) CRASHED R out

WorkAround : Since R 20 b3 is instantly crashing out, the workout is to manually remove the last added VST from Library/audio/plugins/vst3 to another folder, then R will start up w/o crashing. Remove the VST out of the mixer, then you an add the VST back so other apps aren't messed up.

I guess it would be fair to say that Fairlight and VST's is in a rough stage right now and best avoided until word is it's safe.

Certainly in Windows all of my VST plugins are shown as loaded in Preferences/System/Audio Plugins, and can be added to the mixer without crashing. This sounds like a compatibility issue with those plugins.

yes they show as loading in prefs here too, but applying them is the problem. they won't actually load in the mixer, or if they do crash. Instruments seem to consistently be crashers across brands.

I don't know because I don't get that far. usually R crashes as soon as the VST UI draws. to be specific :
if R chrashed out already, reopen R, the VST UI draws, fairlight draws and as soon as the waveforms start drawing R will crash.

if R is running, and you can get the VST UI to open, will crash instantly or within 1-2 seconds crash.

if it opens at all. Many will gray out if applied in the mixer window so nothing happens.

Are you using Rewire in that Timeline?

I started up the Arturia lic / app manager today- mon may 12. it complained about a bunch of the plugins as not being installed - they are. so I did a reinstall all, and at least their plugins are now working today. They did push an app manager update a few days ago, so that may of been part of it. they also had a major release update a week ago too. at least their plugins seems to be functional again. UI's work, not grayed out in Fairlight mixer, outputs are rendering.

OTH a Blue Cat VST is grayed out. Looks like I may just reinstall everything I can. All of this may be related to OS 15.5 update invalidating the installs or some other related security changes in the OS.
