HDR Gui monitor support in Rocky Linux 8.6?

Installed Blackmagic provided DaVinci-Resolve-Linux-RockyLinux_8.6.iso for system.

Is it possible to use a HDR Gui monitor and see proper HDR in the Resolve Viewer using this Linux distro?

I don't think so with the built in video card. HDR10 barely sort of works on the latest Fedora 42 with Gnome 48. Rocky 8.6 has much older versions.

For anyone who cares, F42 will drive an A95L at 4k60 10 Bit RGB HDR10 with a Nvidia 3050 and the 575.51.02 driver. Very few apps work in HDR, mpv being the only video player I know of. Firefox claims to, but doesn't.

I don't have any DeckLink cards to know what they can do under Linux. Someone else will have to answer.

Regards,

Mark

The decklink works fine in HDR.

My question is only related to using a HDR gui monitor in Linux.

It would be nice to have the Resolve viewer in the Gui monitor display HDR properly. Slightly annoying to see HDR on my Grading monitor and a washed out image on GUi monitor.

HDR requires Gnome 48 or Plasma 6 minimum. It's pretty bleeding edge and it's a little flaky still. Even RHEL10 only uses Gnome 46. So, unless Resolve supports HDR on a much newer distribution, I think it will be a while.

I don't know if someone has gotten it to run on Fedora 42.
