Audio Cleanup

Hey guys,
Total newbie question here... Is there a way to separate different sounds/audio types in Resolve/Fairlight? I do a fair amount of nature filming while walking through the woods. Ideally I'd like to lessen/remove the sounds of footsteps and crunching leaves. In turn, I would like to leave in the sounds of the birds, water, etc... Thanks!

I'm skeptical. I think your best option will be to figure out how to NOT record the sounds you don't want.

Are you filming as you walk? Not a good technique.
If you have any sections of video without the sound of footsteps you could isolate the audio and copy it numerous times to fill the soundtrack in place of the original . . . it is unlikely that you will need the sound to sync with the video.

You should record the ambient sounds separately without you walking and marry them up to the picture when editing. If there is a need for sync sound at any point then you should not try to capture it while moving.
You will find it impossible to separate all the different sounds in your original recording. If you are going to do a lot of this type of video then it might be worth investing in a portable audio recorder from the likes of Tascam or Zoom.
