long save time/hang for project backups

Anyone else seeing this in version 20? I'm in a project with more timelines than I normally have but not that much more. Project backups pause at 4% for maybe 4 seconds or sometimes the whole app freezes and looks like it's going to crash, then it comes good. I have a diagnostic log saved

Windows 11 Pro, core i9 139000, 96GB RAM, RTX 4080 Super.

Just to give folks some kind of a reference point, Jamie, how many is 'not that much more'... and how long and how complex are the timelines? For example, is it like 15 x 5 min timelines w/ 10 video and 36 audio tracks or more like 30 x 90 min timelines w/ 5 video and 12 audio tracks etc? And anything different going on with your storage / database setup, like fuller than usual etc?

No idea if these details can lead to any useful help, but possibly more likely than without.

Well, a few months ago I was working on a project in version 19 with lots of media and three of four duplicates of a 1h30m timeline. Had no trouble with Project Backups, it interrupted for about two seconds I carry on working.

I'm now in a project with six timelines of either 2h40m or 1h20m and probably about the same amount of media as the other project and I consistently have it lock up for five to ten seconds, sometimes 30 seconds, then it completes the backup. Live Save, Project Backups and Timeline backups are all enabled (probably were in my v19 job too). I set it to every 20 minutes or so.

I've not jumped to 20b on my production machine yet, so haven't got an alt baseline I can offer, but hopefully someone running under similar conditions to yourself can chime in.

For what its worth though, even in v19, I sometimes see occasional minor hangs on save with auto backups when projects get especially heavy - not on every save though, and never longer than it would take for a manual DRP export - so maybe you're just hitting something similar with this project.

I have always seen work stopping interruptions with Project Backups. I gave up on them, instead favoring Live Save and Timeline Backups.
