Hi all together.

I'm currently starting to edit a Feature Documentary on Davinci. I edited features docs on avid before.
I will start going thru the material on the daily timelines with the director and mark and descirbe things in clips.
After that i would like to find things quickly thru searching on the bin level, but also have an overview in the index menu for the timelines.

I thought i will do markers on the clips in the timeline and found out that these are different than putting them on the orignalclip itself: When i put the marker directliy on the "originalclip" it won't show in the index - when i put the marker on the "timelineclip" i can't search in the binsearch.

My question is:
Is there a way to search multiple timelines for marker metadata - or the other way around - is there a way to show the oringalclip markers in the index.

If no. - do you have a different workflow idea how it is possible to create metadata that is not limited to originalclip or timelineclip only?

Can you show us? Or maybe share a small Archive for inspection?

Add all markers to clips in the Media Pool BEFORE editing into a timeline. Now the markers will stay with the clip as it is added to a timeline & can be searched in the Edit index.

I just added a Marker to a clip already in a timeline and it got added to the Marker list in the Index.

Studio 20b3 for Windows. (Though...didn't it work this way always?)

Yes Jim, that's exactly what the OP is saying. Timeline markers are independent from clip markers.
