Noticed problems with Davinci 20 Beta (1.0) "Lens Flares" -

PostWed May 14, 2025 5:30 pm

Hello to everyone. Im new and I love Davinci Studio :) Have a nice day to everyone ;)

I have been testing the DV20 since day one and overall it works well, although I have noticed a few major bugs.
Operating system: Windows 11 (24H2)
CPU/GPU: AMD 8845HS + 32GBLPDDR5X (6400MT/s)
DavinciStudio 20 beta (1.0)
Bugs:
1. pEmitter + pTurbulance in FUSION works very slow, very slow (CPU and GPU load is about 3-5% no matter what I do)
2. I cannot add Video Transitions to some samples (last week I have make one film with all-intra havc-I samples and it was impossible to add trasistion at the end of film)
3. Today I discovered that in FUSION page "LensFlare" (without video; only background) makes non stop crashing Davinci. It works but after couple of minutes when I want change some settings or animation -> crash.
I have videos for most of this problems (video grab from windows)
4. Offtop.. Is there any chance that NPU in Ryzen CPUs some day will be usefull for DV Studio (will do some jobs)?

I'm not a Fusion guru so don't take this as gospel, my information may be out of date, but if I understand correctly, Resolve/Fusion's particle system is not GPU accelerated, rather it is CPU based and only single threaded... so your laptop may well be quite slow when working with pImageEmitter + pTurbulence.
Regarding your issue adding transitions, thats usually down to a lack of handles.
And with respect to the crashing, you'll need to post logs and sys diag files etc, per FAQ.

Thanks for reply. About particle system is very strange that my setup has load max 5% when rendering particles. Ryzen 8845HS is really powerfull CPU (it handles fluid playback of 444HQ Prores@1.5GB/s rendered effects; and easy handle 4K120fps video playback).
What do you mean about "handles" in transistion?
When I change duration of the clip (trim for about couple frames) I can magically add transitions..
