Watch folder for XML imports?

Hi, bit of a noob question but I'm wondering if there is a possibility to define a watch folder for when you work on a project where not all timelines get delivered to you at once but across several days as XML.

If the XML was created on a Windows machine and you import it on Windows it's no big deal, but you need to specify the folder where to grab the files from if it comes from Mac to Win and vice versa.

This gets very tedious if you have to do it for every single XML you import. Technically you could import ALL footage in advance to prevent this but I don't want to work with a project containing files that aren't actually in use.

Is there a way to let Resolve know it can always look at a specific folder when trying to link media for that specific project?

Hey

Besides your question which is interesting but I don't address here...

I guess you know that a "Usage" column can be used in the Media Pool to check what's used or not, right ?

There are specific steps to take for setting up a Watch Folder. Are you familiar with the process?

Yea, I could clean it up afterwards, but most projects that need to be graded in Resolve come in parts over several days/weeks when not all assets are locked yet. Cleaning it up prior would put me back to my initial question. Cleaning it up at the end is not my goal.

If memory serves, you have to do it from the Media page, Media Storage panel, and use the Add Folder... option with (Create Bins). Then you can right click the bin and use one of the Resync options.

Although...looking in the 20 Beta, I see those Resync options for bins that were not created that way, sooooo...maybe I'm wrong? Or maybe things changed in version 20?

Not sure. :?
