Some features and effects and keyframes stop working

Hello,

I run a fairly beefy PC, based on a Core 7 Ultra, 64GB of RAM, an Intel A770 (16GB) graphics card and began a project that has lots of stills, most will be animated using keyframes via the inspector/Transform panel and can get them to work just fine, but only for 2-3 images, then it appears to stop.

Also, the search for clips etc stop working and any other item in that row stop working, including the slider for thumbnail size.

Effects/titles etc stop dragging to timeline, but a reboot of Davinci Resolve (19.1.4) solves all that and within a few minutes, it's back to not working on those same functions. I can still edit, but it's now crippled. I am running DR Free. Drivers are updated, as was Windows.

I make multi timelines based on the chapters of the project, each starting with a simple black background with white lettering, fade text in, then out after enough time to read it, then the story resumes.

My plan is to connect them all together at the end, sound sweetening etc anything as needed before exporting. I will use proxies for all video as this is a 4K timeline.

I did a run through the logs yesterday and found there was an error and something about the graphics card? I forget now. That's when I realized I should double check and update the graphics drivers if needed. So had to go through another avenue to get those drivers updated.

Today, the freezing of some features is back and no, I do not shut down, nor put in sleep overnight, just turn off monitors is all. At the moment, the A770 is not running very hard.

Any ideas?

An update: 5/18/25

As I'm working on this project with multiple timelines, it's increasingly becoming apparent that I'm witnessing lag as well as the main issue, some functions seemingly stopped working (related?) and this morning, it's become obvious that I might have too little buffering parameters. If so, what would be a proper suggestion to readjust this buffer to if it's indeed the issue.

I just did a bit of work and the lag was very obvious, and had to wait, then things like Text* would then be brought over to the timeline and at one point, had to wait for the drive to do its thing before I could do anything major. Firefox also had to be shut down and restarted to be able to use it.

BTW, cache/edit drive is an NVME Crucial P3 drive, edit, with work drive (to place everything on while editing as short term storage) is a SATA SSD.
