First let me say what my goal is. I have several clips I want to apply magic mask 2 on so I can blur the background to get a nice bokeh. My system works fast on all things I have tried but magic mask 2 runs at 1 fps. I want to run multiple clips in batch at night to minimize my wait time. I could not find a procedure so I got this process from chatgpt. I am aware that sometimes chatgpt is wrong so please clear this up for me.
In DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 Beta, the “Regenerate Object Mask → All Clips” command does not trigger any processing when using Magic Mask 2 (Object Mode) — even when the correct setup steps are followed.
Steps to Reproduce:
1 Add two or more clips to a timeline.
2 Go to the Color page.
3 On each clip:
Use Magic Mask (Object mode).
Draw strokes to select the object.
Click Track Forward and Backward, tracking at least a few seconds.
4 After both clips have tracked partial mask data, click the 3-dot menu in the Magic Mask panel and choose:
→ Regenerate Object Mask → All Clips.
Expected Result:
All clips that contain Magic Mask data should be batch tracked automatically from start to finish.
Actual Result:
Nothing happens. No processing is triggered. No new frames are tracked. No visual feedback or error message appears.
System Info:
DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 Beta 3
Magic Mask set to default Mode (Magic Mask 2)
OS: [Windows 10]
GPU: [Radeon RX 580 GTS]
Other DaVinci features (including Magic Mask 2 tracking per clip) work correctly.
Notes:
The current implementation in Resolve 20 Beta appears to ignore partially tracked clips even if dots and some tracking data are present.
