Narration track gone dead?

PostMon May 19, 2025 7:29 pm

Hi.

Just opened a project to find the narration track silent. Can't figure that out. I'm attaching a screen grab of the tracks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might need to provide a bit more info than that, John.
That said, did you check the track level (not the clip level), the output bus assignments etc?

Thanks for the reply.

I've just tried an experiment. I copied some of the mute audio track to another project and placed it on a track where all the other audio is working fine. It's silent here too. I've checked the clip attributes and get the below.

Thing is this audio track has been working fine until today. I've not changed any setting that I'm aware of.

Looks like you're working with single channel mono narration clips ... try changing your narration track type to mono instead of stereo.

Switching the track to Mono did the trick.

Thanks Andy.
