Resolve 20b4 Audio Loss/Cutout during playback/render

Experiencing sudden repeatable audio loss from things as simple as moving a click a few seconds forward on the track. Other things seem to randomly trigger it. Audio works for a minute or so, then suddenly drops out. Waveform still shows audio, but it doesn't play or render. I even tried transcoding the audio to from the .mov into .wav in audacity, but I got the same results.

Restarting does sometimes work for me, but only temporarily.

Thank you for the detail.

Does the source media audio rate match the Timeline rate? e.g. both 48k.

Does the source media frame rate match the Timeline rate? e.g. both 30fps.

I had the same issues on b3. Hoped b4 would fix it.

Please try the updated beta 4 (build 48) and see if this fixes the issue.

I updated to build 48. Problem still occurs. Tried deleting render cache and restarting resolve. Problem went away for about a minute, then audio cut out again.

Whilst we await a solution...For those afflicted: you might try changing to another timeline and hit play. Then, change back and see if your audio returns. That's how I've been avoiding a restart. It sometimes lasts until I reach the end of a session.

Same issue with b4. Did not have the issue on b3, and was doing the exact same edit when I updated.

Updating to new build now, we'll see.

has this audio bug been resolved? no pun intended.

ALL my timelines played normal last time I worked on this project. now, some do, some do not allow me to hear anything. same Mac, same everything. just a different day.

the copy and paste to new project "fix" does not work anymore, at least not with all timelines. so far one copy paste fixed it and the second did not. sound meters are blasting away, it's there.

experiment: new project, check settings for audio, which is system in/out, headphones out.
correct frame size and rate.

I paste the effected timeline. No sound

I create a new timeline using the Master uncut UHD file that the bad timeline was cut from.
it HAS sound.

pure twilight zone stuff.

Problem still occurring on my end. I finally went back to v19 because the persistent audio dropouts rendered the software useless.

Oh, that's odd. I have no issues in v19. You may have a separate issue; I'd recommend starting your own topic and describing your specific specs and issue in detail.

Could you include a link to logs please? Are you able to provide timestamps of when this issue occurs?

Are you able to record a few seconds of audio to illustrate the type and duration of the dropouts?

I had this too, I can't remember whether it was my PC or Mac; what briefly fixed it for me was swapping to another timeline and back again when it occurred.

I've also had things in the not render in the fusion media out preview. If I click the left dot to put the same media out on the left pane the whole view is visible. Turn the right hand dot off and on again, that's fixed. So there's a few little janky pieces - but it is only Beta 4 to be completely fair.

Unfortunately, I had things that needed to be edited, so I gave up on fixing it and went back to v19. I'll try again after more of the bugs have been worked out.
