replay of audio drops out

While trying to compare two audio tracks to determine which I should use, the audio continuously drops out. This makes the program rather useless for my purposes. After paying for the studio version, I am very disappointed. The old version didn't drop the audio as much as the studio version. Surely this is a problem that can be fixed.

Please provide a Resolve diagnostics log which you can generate from the Resolve Help menu. Generate the log after experiencing the audio drop out issue.
If you can share a link to one of the files with the audio dropout, that would be helpful.

Re-download and install beta 4. It has had a minor update to address this audio problem.

I just delete my studio version of DR and then reinstall it and that will give me a more recent version. Is that correct?
With the free version, it would often ask if I wanted to upgrade to a more recent version but I don’t recall being asked that question since buying the studio version. Why is that?

You will only get notifications for beta releases if you tick "Automatically opt-in for new beta program notifications" in Preferences/System/General.
You need to download and install Studio beta 4 again to get it's revised version.

How do you uninstall DR Studio? When I try to uninstall it, there is a line through the uninstall selection, as shown in the screen shot, indicating that I can't uninstall it. (woops, the screen shot is too big so it wont show)

You don't need to uninstall (on Mac) to install a different version.
If you want to uninstall anyway, the Uninstall Resolve.app in the Applications/DaVinci Resolve folder would be the way.
The icon for that app DOES have a red minus icon in the lower right corner. That's normal. The app will still run and warn you that you are about to uninstall Resolve.
If you are seeing something different, the screen shot would be helpful. Put it on a file sharing site and provide a link to the file here.

Thanks for the tips. I found that if I renamed the file and erased all the other tracks I could listen to the two tracks I was editing without any drop out. After editing them, I will save them and import them into the original file.

I downloaded version 20 and it also worked, allowing me to listen to two audio tracks without dropout. So , in the future I won't have to rename the file, erase all the other tracks and edit the two audio tracks etc.
