BSOD when closing Resolve

PostThu May 22, 2025 4:36 am

I am using DaVinci Resolve 20.0B4 on a Windows 11 PC and getting a BSOD when I close the program. The error is a Driver Verification DMA Violation. The program works fine until I close it down. I rolled back to version 19, which still gave the error even though it had worked fine previously. The details of my PC setup are below. Hope someone can tell me what is going wrong, as no other programs I use seem to trigger this problem. Regards

DMA stands for "Direct Memory Access" Usually is a PCIE card that plugged into your motherboard, which can access your memory. Do you have any other PCIE or Thunderbolt device on your PC other than your GPU? This bluescreen is actually a protection measure from Windows, it detected a PCIE device is trying to access your memory directly. You can disable the DMA protection in Bios I think.

Thanks for your reply,

I dont have anything else other than the GPU plugged into the PCIE slot. I occasionally plug my iPhone in via a thunderbolt USB connector.

I have not had any issues previously, and it only happens when I close DaVinci Resolve program. Resolve seems to work fine while I am doing my editing of video, but causes a crash when I close it

Thanks
