Hi,

I am looking for help with regards to a DR Project that will not open, no matter what I try.

I am using DR version 19, on a Windows laptop.

DR launches fine, as in the Project Manager launches and I can open all my other DR projects.
However, when I double click my 'troubled' project, I get the loading screen which goes to 100%, then a spinning cursor and then... DR just closes. I get no error message, and no trace of Davinci Resolve in the Task Manager after the crash (so it's not as if the application is 'hanging').

I compared DR logs for opening a working project versus the log when opening the 'troubled' project. Up until the crash, both logs seem identical (e.g. small timing differences, but any error and warning lines appear in both).
The crash line reads:

"[0x00004d5c] | Main | INFO | 2025-05-22 12:20:27,125 | Caught termination signal SIGABRT, triggering termination routine"
=> This tells me nothing. But from what I saw on this forum, it seems to be a rather generic message.

- I tried to export the troubled project: DR closes
- I tried to export the archive for the troubled project: DR closes
- I tried to load a backup for the project but have none
- I renamed the troubled project: still the same outcome
- I created a new folder/project and copy/pasted the Project.db file from the troubled project to that new folder: upon trying to open this new project, DR closes
- I reinstalled DR: still the same outcome
- I changed a parameter in the SM_Project table (using DB Browser for SQLite) for the affected project (as per a YT video I found): same outcome => when I try to open the project, DR just closes
- I removed all mediafiles and tried to open the troubled project: same outcome
- I noticed the troubled project had no "Batch Renders" directory sitting next to the Project.db file (while all my other projects have an empty directory), so I created an empty "Batch Renders" directory for my troubled project: no change

Something is obviously wrong with the Project.db file of my troubled project, and it is stopping DR from opening it.

- .zip: File created through DR > Help > Create Diagnostics log on Desktop => for this I used another, working project so not sure if it will reveal anything about my troubled project
- .txt: log of the crash upon opening the troubled project
- Project.db: The DB file of the troubled project that will not open.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

It's so frustrating!
I'm going through exactly the same situation with a project that was almost finished. I've tried all the recommendations I found here and others I saw on the internet, but nothing has been effective in solving the problem. My project is still corrupted, but I can open other files normally. I've seen so many cases where a simple task was able to solve the problem, but it didn't work for me and I don't know the program well enough to know what might be happening. I'm using version 20.0 Build 49.
