Can you drag in multiple clips stacked?

PostSat May 24, 2025 7:31 am

I'm trying to drag in 30 audio stems and I'd love to be able to drag them all in stacked perfectly in line.

Is there a way to do it? Have tried all the different modifier key combos.
System specs:
OS: Windows 11
CPU: Intel i912900K 3200Mhz 16 core
RAM: 128GB DDR4-3000
GPU: NVIDIA A6000

What if you parked the playhead at the timecode at which all the clips needed to be placed, then selected all the tracks. Now select the clips, right-click and choose "Insert Selected Clips to Timeline"?

Does that work? In some cases, this is easier than just dragging them to the spot, but it definitely depends on how many clips are involved.

Yes, you can do this by dragging the clips to the timeline while holding down the CTRL key (CMD on Mac). The trick is that you need to do this on the Fairlight page.

From the Edit page, this is not yet possible.

There is a forum for Feature Requests, though.

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

On macOS, Command + drag source media from the Media Pool to the Fairlight Timeline to place individual clips on separate Timeline Audio Tracks.

Command + Shift + drag source from the Media Pool on to the Fairlight Timeline to place clips at embedded Start Timecode positions.
