Fix non-english keyboard layouts not working in Davinci?

PostSun May 25, 2025 7:13 pm

Hi. I hear that DVR has never been able to use keyboard layouts other than English. Right now keyboard shortcuts only work when the OS keyboard layout is En. Should you change it for any other, they stop working at all. DVR is the first software I've used that stops recognizing the shortcuts with a non-english keyboard layout. It is SOOO frustrating especially when you work with texts in your videos. Is there any fix for this or will this ever be fixed?

I think this is not true.
I work with a German Keyboard without any problems with the shortcuts
I also use the Davinci Resolve Editor Keyboard with the English language. No problems.
PC Windows 11
Intel Core i9-9900K, 8x 3.6GHz, 64 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super

I'm not lying. I have the OS in English and En and Ru layouts, and only the En keyboard layout picks up the keys. I didn't mention it but I'm speaking about the custom keybindings.
Like here, I have a Ctrl+Shift+C bound to Show Keyframe editor command

And it only works in the En layout. Same is for the ~ - I assigned the Cinema viewer command to it. And it doesn't work if my keyboard layout is set to my native language. But miraculously S set to Split works in both layouts. Swap clips left\right assigned to Ctrl+> or < is also En-only. And so on

Try that for the German language with custom commands - it'll be the same as in my case. At least there are Reddit complains proving this.
