Stable Resolve version

PostThu May 29, 2025 2:52 pm

In your opinion, which Resolve version is the most stable for your system?

While my experience using Resolve Studio has been mostly positive and I have completed several projects with it, reading about the multiple issues other users have with later versions, is concerning. I've been editing for a long time and I know that AI this and AI that will not make a better story.

I value stability over new features, so at the cost of less "features", which Resolve version works best from your experience? Sort of like Pr CS6 did.

Version 19.1.4 is stable for me, Luis... but then I don't really remember having had any significant stability issue with any of the Resolve versions I've used, going back to Resolve 9.

Bear in mind that I rarely install the early builds of any major and even minor releases on my production system eg Resolve was already at v19.1.2 when I upgraded from Resolve 18.6.6.

Thanks for the feedback Andy. I'm also on 19.1.4 build 11 and while "stable", I am barely scratching the surface. Also the transcription feature is somewhat broken. I've been meaning to post about this, but basically works well for short form, but then it starts drifting into poor quality transcripts.

I remember version 18.x being stable as well.

This kind of varies by system. For me, it was the last version of 18. 19 was never great. I'm finding 20 to be very stable and fast...IMO the best release yet. I would start with the full 20 release and if it's not stable for you, back up to the last 19 and, if needed, the last 18.
