Movable viewer window for vertical format editing

PostThu May 29, 2025 7:33 pm

I am on a single screen computer editing vertical content between two stacked timelines and I would like to be able to shift my viewer window to one side so that my stacked timelines occupy the left half of the screen, and my viewer the other half. I know this is relatively unique of a use case, but it is odd to me that there isn't more control over shifting the positioning of various windows, like what adobe allows for.

see attached.

I created an account just to say that I agree 1000%. Having the option to adjust the layout of windows to our liking is crucial! Davinci Resolve 20 has this nice option to expand the timeline viewer to full screen on the side which is fantastic, but as soon as you open any tabs on the right side like the Inspection tool it goes back to it's regular size which really sucks. I wish at the very least that the inspector window could be moved to the left alongside the Media Pool and such.

PLEASE let us adjust windows whoever we prefer! Ideally, we can enable the adjusting and move stuff around, and then lock it in place once they're set however we wish!
