Sort by date modified / created is not working

This is an issue I've started to have with Resolve version 20.0 Build 49. I've attached an image of the sorting being clearly wrong 08:23:07 being below 17:56:16 on the same day! Is this a bug or is there a way to fix this?

Not much to go on. Might be a bug. Need some more details...

Are those top six clips somehow different that the others ? Jpegs ? Edit page , Cut page, Media page all the same ?


Sorting can be a little mysterious at times, and it's not always clear what Resolve (or any other program) is doing "under the hood."

OK, looks to me like a bug.

I am seeing incorrect sorting on cut and edit, but OK on Media page. Seems to be in bins mixed with jpeg and mov video files and Resolve appears to be erroneously grouping these out of order.

Yea they are clips from a different cameras but if I sort them in the file explorer by date modified they appear in the correct order like they did in the previous version of resolve.

After a little more experimenting...

For me, the bug appears when sorting using the pulldown menu; if i re-sort on the column header it sorts correctly.

I don't remember ever seeing this before on the edit page, but it did used to happen on the cut page, so perhaps the processing related to the source-tape has migrated this bug to the edit page.

It is actually quite a serious issue because it is hard to spot the occasional error in a long list of clips -making this issue nearly invisible. But at the same time means you cannot rely on a date modified sort being 100% accurate.

I agree that this is a pretty serious issue as it caused me to edit my footage blissfully unaware that I was missing quite a lot of it. Sadly I cannot click on the column in the metadata view which is my prefered way of editing...
