Problems with Easing in DR20 Keyframe editor

PostWed Jun 04, 2025 8:02 pm

Hey guys,

With the new Keyframe Editor in DR20, I have difficulties easing the keyframes.

For example: If I add multiple Zoom keyframes to an adjustment clip, hit cmd + a / ctrl + a, and hit the "ease in and out", with DR19 all of the zooms were easing perfectly. With DR20, the easing "lines" or whatever (the little dots that let me change the pace and "steepness" of the easing curve), are now extended to the point, on which the next "ease in" curve of the next keyframe begins, creating sort of a jump in the zooming process.
Therefore I now have to go through each and every single keyframe and shorten the little easing dot, making a what has been easy easing process, pretty dreadful.

Do you guy know, how I can change the preset length of the little easing dots next to my keyframe, or any tipps on how I could solve that very specific problem?

Easing is still problematic on the edit page. I too hoped that with the new keyframe editor, easing would be as good as in Fusion, but we're not there yet unfortunately.
I guess until they fix this buggy behaviour we have to manually tweak each handle. Good thing Shift constrains the axis movement, so at least we have that.

I find right clicking on the keyframe in the Inspector to add an Ease gives excellent results in version 20.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Yes that's true, if you ease in-out on the inspector panel, it works great.

However, if you do the same thing on the keyframe panel, the curve is quite a bit more "eased" in and out, and in the middle of the distance between the two keyframes, it makes a jerky jump, which is not present in the graph. A jump like this would show like a "spike" or a very abrupt vertical slope, which is clearly not there.

It's buggy behaviour, hopefully they will iron it out, but for now it's either manual tweaking or right-clicking on the inspector panel.
