Can Intelliscript be used to rough cut multiple videos?

PostFri Jun 06, 2025 4:02 pm

I have a relatively simple use case for YouTube talking head videos where I have a screen capture via OBS and a talking head video via a Lumix S5iix, both of which are then imported to a DaVinci Resolve project. I can easily run Intelliscript on either video alone, which creates a new timeline with rough cuts. However, that doesn't help me as I need both videos to be synced and for all cuts to be applied to both so that I can switch from the talking head format to the screen capture (or have both at the same time) at will.

Is there a way to use Intelliscript in this manner? Thanks in advance.

I found a partial answer. It does look like you can select multiple camera angles (clips), but each must have been transcribed beforehand. See the following video for details:

The method I was hoping to use is quite similar to what the video shows:

- Transcribe clips
- Export transcript to text file
- Edit text file to remove bad takes
- Select transcribed clips and choose AI Tools-->Create new timeline using Intelliscript

My hope was that the result would be 2 video tracks (Talking head and screen cap) with the bad takes removed, which I could use as a rough cut. I could then dig into more detailed editing.

However, the Intelliscript-created timeline is so mangled it's unusable. It also seems to speed up some sections to account, I suppose, for mistimings between various clips? I'm not sure.

In the end, I suspect Intelliscript is an unworkable solution for my needs at this time.
