Trying to figure out why Project Manager might be laggy

PostMon Jun 09, 2025 10:31 am

Hi. The problem I've been dealing with is this:

As you can see in this video, it takes the project manager about 10 seconds to unlag and become responsive after it has loaded. I have quite a few projects and only 4 databases, all of them are on fast SSDs, the PC is also not loaded during this process, so I cannot understand why the project manager performance is so slow after its start. Later on, when it's loaded and responsive, it goes on being responsive with all the other projects and databases, but every start of the project manager is like this. The projects and DVR themselves load fast, on the other hand.

Or is it an expected behaviour?

The cpu is maxed on one core, I suspect some database calculations.

I suspect the logs will tell us more.

I also don't suspect the network traffic to be the issue, but to rule it out, does the same thing happen when there's no network access (as in disable the LAN and WLAN devices)?

Thank you for your response, Mads Johansen. No the Lan is not an issue 100% - it's just the browser downloading new media for a project. But nonetheless I turned off my Wifi and it acts the same way.

From my perspective, that's normal.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
