Resolve 20 Keyframe Editor - FR: zooming

PostTue Jun 10, 2025 2:48 pm

The new keyframe editor is a welcome addition, but the zooming behavior should be updated.

1. manual zooming with key combinations. See any graph editor. Basically you should always be able to zoom in and out using key combinations + mouse buttons. Make these mappable so that they match whatever tool (nuke, ae, houdini, Maya etc) the user is used to. Zooming should be horizontal and vertical. Auto framing is fine but should be an option.

2. This is a big one. We need to be able to zoom out beyond the in/out points of a clip. Often there are keys before and after the in and out points we need access to.

Those two are just about show stoppers for making it really usable. There are other niggles too, trying to keep these posts targeted.

There is a separate forum for Feature Requests.

viewforum.php?f=33

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
