problem with OpenCL

PostTue Jun 10, 2025 10:16 pm

Hi, I decided to try using Remote Monitor. When I launch it, I get an error saying "OpenCL is not supported."

My GPU is an AMD RX 5700 XT. The drivers are up to date, and OpenCL is shown as present and working everywhere.
Does this tool work with AMD cards, or does DaVinci only support NVIDIA for this feature?
Is there anything I can do to make it work? Thanks in advance!

To confirm, are you getting that error when you attempt to enable Remote Monitoring in the Resolve app itself, or when launching the Remote Monitoring app?

I was a bit confused by this myself, as the v20 release notes mention AMD and Intel GPU's now supporting remote monitoring.

And what that actually means is: the Remote Monitor stand alone app now works on AMD and Intel GPU equipped machines.

But for the Resolve app itself to initiate a remote monitor session, still requires an NVIDIA GPU on Windows and Linux.

If you have Resolve running, and select the Workspace - Remote Monitoring app, and don't have an NVIDIA GPU, you'll see the "OpenCL is not supported" Remote Monitoring Error.

And since I was just caught out by this, if you ever see this error on a Mac, it's likely you have the GPU Processing mode set to OpenCL instead of Auto/Metal.

What is your Speed Editor issue?

If you have the Speed Editor USB connected, and the "DaVinci Control Panel" app sees it, but Resolve doesn't, the most likely recent cause of that would be the Logitech LampArray process running.

My speed editor started having these problems after I upgraded to Windows 11. Trying to go back to Windows 10 but I haven't had luck doing that. I'm hoping for support from the davinci resolve team today. If I get it, I will share. Smh
