Speed editor/Source Tape/Edit Page/Arghhhhhhhhhhh

PostSat Jun 21, 2025 1:28 am

Morning all
This is driving me crazy, I saw some other posts related to the resolve Beta and these issues but they didn't help me.

Issue Resolve studio 20.

If in the edit page, using Speed Editor, and Source tape, I get the following issues.

If I am in source tape mode and start marking ins and outs and adding to the timeline all is as it should be.

If I switch from source to Timeline to scrub to a different location I can only scrub to the end of the current clip and as soon as the playhead gets to the next clip in the timeline it switches me to that clip in the source viewer but not source tape. if I then switch to source tape it takes me only to the location folder of the newly selected clip not the folder and clip I was in before.

Is my speed editor obsolete in the Edit Page?

Works as it always did in the cut page.

Am I missing something?
Its really annoying

regards

Peter

Hello Peter,
I just wrote (and had submitted) a reply starting: You are not the only one, Peter. Because I couldn't mark ins and outs on the edit page with the speed editor while it worked with the keyboard shortcuts "i" and "o". Plus: working on a single clip I was suddenly thrown into the source tape modus. And: the monitor showed the first clip of my media pool instead of my chosen clip which all the same was red outlined!

However! Now, a few minutes later, without restarting the program, suddenly everything works smooth and fine: By pushing the source button I can change between source and single clip modus and marking works as it should...

I tried what you described with changing from source to timeline: With me I could scroll and hop within the timeline. When then I push the source button again I don't get to the clip which I chose before in the timeline but that seems logical to me: The program returns to the last marked spot in the source tape.

There are some software DaVinci 20 issues (bugs) with the speed editor it seems but they are apparently difficult to nail down. How is your actual working experience?
Best regards, Achim
