Sharing a Color Grade

I'm currently color grading a short that I shot, my friend directed it, and we live several states apart. He did the editing and is working on vfx, I'm working on a color grade. Up until now, I've just been grabbing a still and sharing the dpx/drx files with him. However, for the final grade, each clip is going to have slightly different adjustments, so there isn't just one I can share.

Is there a way to share a timeline color grade (that keeps each clip's individual settings), aside from just sending the project file?

You could export a DRT (DaVinci Resolve Timeline) file, and then have him import it and choose to use/not use the color corrections. Do that as a separate file unrelated to the "real" final delivered file.

You can also export one still per shot, and then import those as a Gallery file folder. That's useful in some cases.

And finally, ColorTrace is very helpful for copying new color grades onto an existing timeline. You have the ability to keep or ignore new grades, depending on how it looks.
