Strange Crash - Resolve 10.1.5 on OSX 10.9.2

PostSat Jun 21, 2014 9:48 pm

Every time I try to "Remove selected clips" from the media pool, Resolve just hard crashes. No beach ball, no nothing. Just shuts itself off in a heartbeat.

Clips I'm trying to remove are not present in any timelines. Happens to ALEXA ProRes, RED R3D EPIC, ProRes files from AEFX etc..

Driving me bananas.

Console just drops this one line:

Code: Select all
11:43:47 AM Resolve: modalSession has been exited prematurely - check for a reentrant call to endModalSession:

Ideas?

Are you sure they are not used? Did you check the Media Pool Usage column? You should always right click on a clip in the Media Pool and select "Update Usage Data" before looking at the Usage column.

If they are not used, please run /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/CaptureLogs and post the .tgz file that gets placed on your desktop.

I have verified they are unused via the "update usage" command. I'll spit out the log when I get back to the system.

Just before I created the log, I again attempted to remove one of the offending clips and the crash occurred so it should be the last event. I have tried to move the project to other machines and have the same result on all of them. I have again, verified the clips are not in use.

The only thing that might be related I can think of is that some of these clips were use previously, and then replaced with alternate versions (VFX instead of R3D) so there may still be an association with my timeline in some way.

I also just installed the 11.0b1 BETA and the same issue persists.

It would be helpful to have a copy of your project. Use File - Export Project. In the export dialog, don't select any of the check boxes.

You can either post it here, or contact support directly, which may be a more efficient way to work on this.

As the normal telephone hold time is usually around 45 minutes, I'd much rather deal with you on the board :)

You don't need to call us, you can also email us. This makes exchanging files like logs and projects easier to manage. But we can do it here too. Just may not get to it as quickly.
