how to do a mirror kaleidoscope effect in resolve

Hi guys im wondering if anyone can help me out with this i like to edit the videos in davinci without doing a roundtrip but im wondering if i can do this sort of effects like this video of jay-z without going out of resolve or do i need to do it in premiere

make a second video layer with the same image -- crop half of the picture and use the mirror horizontal function

Voila!

Now, if you need to do DVE.... it is a bit more involved... let me know.

Or, you can create a new layer and set a rectangular power window on half of you image and do a vertical flip image in Node Sizing.

Node sizing would be my bet, too, provided the framing is just right. It's amazing how useful that can be to solve certain kinds of problems.

Hi,

Is there a way to batch process multiple videos via Resolve/Fusion kaleidoscope effect? Without the need to manually define the nodes each time. Another word; set it up once and then apply it to 10 video clips saved on my SSD?

Of course. It's all in the manual. Select target clips then middle mouse click the clip with nodes that make up the kaleidoscope effect. Other option: Make a group of clips that need kaleidoscope effect then build th effect in pre-group or post-group.
