Request : Better OFX plugin window

PostThu Nov 20, 2014 11:20 pm

Hi all,

Being able to use OFX plugins in Resolve is a great feature, even if a few effects don't perfectly work yet.
Nevertheless, some effects have many parameters and the OFX window is way too tight.

Here are a few ideas to improve their use :
- A wider ofx window. Maybe a floating palette like the new "Gallery View".
- An "open / close all" plugins categories in the Library Tab. Some collections like Boris Continuum, Saphire or Tiffen have so many effects that it is not easy to quickly find the right one when the whole collection list is deployed.
- An "OFX" menu next to "Color" and "Nodes" would be great. The content of the actual OFX Library tab could be displayed there, a bit like in some NLE or in After Effects. It'd have the advantage to allow to easily pick an effect and also remove tabs from the OFX palette.
- A favorite effects category on top of the list would be a plus. Boris or Sapphire have tons of effects but we only use a few of them in Resolve.

Any other suggestion is welcomed.

Cheers.
Alex.-

By the way, it's would be great if Blackmagic could list all the compatible OFX plugins somewere on the Resolve webpage.
