Hi all,

I'm trying to round trip DNG clips using H264 proxies between Resolve & Premiere Pro CC 2014, but Resolve will always crash when I do the XML import, when I deselect the "Import Media into Resolve" box (no Crash if I choose to import the proxies).

My Workflow :
- Import DNG's in Resolve
- Select "Assist conform file names..." in options (so I have the reel field populated)
- Export Individual Files in H.264
- Edit in Premiere CC 2014 with the proxies
- Export FCP XML
- Import XML in Resolve, deselecting the "Import Media" box
- Resolve crashes (No crash if I keep "Import Media" selected).

I've repeated all the workflow steps with a MacBook Pro in Bootcamp (Windows 7 SP1), and it works, no crash.
So it has to be a problem with my main editing computer, but I can't figure it out. Here are my specs :

MB : Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Révision B3)
CPU : Intel Core i7 2600K
RAM : 16 Go
GPU : NVIDIA GTX 285
OS : WINDOWS 7 64 Bit / WINDOWS 8.1 64 Bit (same crash issue on both OS).

I do have Cache Permission Issues when I start Resolve so I usually change DB & Gallery Folders in General Options when I create a new project.

Otherwise Resolve is working flowlessly, I can grade with really complex Nodes systems the DNG files and it remains really stable and reactive.

I've lost hours & hours on this, so any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Your GTX285 card only has 1GB of VRAM. That could be a problem. What size are the DNG files?

It could be that you have enough VRAM to make proxies from the DNGs, but that when you import the XML, it's applying sizing operations that exceed the VRAM capabilities. But normally you would get a GPU Mem Exhausted message, and not a crash.

Does the other computer you've tried this on have more graphics VRAM? If so, that's likely the issue.

Thanks for your answer.

The other computer is a 2009 MacBook Pro running bootcamp... I get GpU errors all the time when trying to play DNG's BUT It manages to successfuly import the XML and relink the DNG's...

The main computer is also a Hackintosh and I have the same crash running resolve on Yosemite.

So the GTX 285 should be the culprit but again, apart From that It manages DNG´s, even really big ones, really well inside resolve.

This error appeared today with no changes over previous days.It has been working flawlessly until today. Because in one post you recommend re-installing DaVinci to solve this problem I did, so now it is:

Resolve 11.2.1lite.002

Same thing, it cannot see any .mov files (direct import or via XML) including the ones we have been working with the entire week.

Running on OS X 10.9.3 MacPro 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5, 32G RAM AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB

Really need help on this one, I am teaching a Color Grading course in our College

Why would you post this sort of message at the end of an old XML Import thread? Start a new thread.

Have you added any Codecs? That could potentially break this.

Added any new apps?

SOMETHING happened at the SYSTEM level to cause the QTDecoder app to all of a sudden start crashing. This is almost certainly not a Resolve issue, per se. Re-installing Resolve, just in case, was a good thing to try. Since that didn't help, we are back to something at the system level.

If you can run the Resolve CaptureLogs app and post or link to the resulting .tgz file, that could be helpful. It would also be helpful to post or link to your Mac System Info .spx file.

Hi Dwaine, sorry about that. I have no idea how my post ended in this thread. I am sure I was on a QTDecoder one. However I realized I needed to use my real name (had an alias), I requested that change and maybe I copied and pasted in the wrong place I don't know.
I'll do what you suggest, thank you for your help, I'll be careful to be on the right thread!

hi everyone
im sorry i know this is an old forum but i have the same problem
whenever i want to export in davinci resolve 14 or 15 it crash!!!(davinci has stopped working error)
and some times it crashes in normal mode(not exporting)
im working on my cintell scanner raw files an i use noise reduction effect.
my system info is:
cpu:4790k
vga:2x gtx 980ti in sli
ram 32gb ddr3
