Reloading CUDA driver after every reboot (mac)

I'm assuming this is a permissions issue or something - but after upgrading to OSx 10.9.5 on my Mac Pro, every time I restart, I have to reload the Cuda driver.
I tried changing the Nvidia driver itself - and that really made a mess.
Any hint why I'd have to reload the Cuda driver every time?

Hate to do this, but BUMP. Still have this problem. Likely an OSx issue, not resolve, but if anyone has the answer...

What CUDA driver are you using?
And are you using the native OSX NVIDIA driver or the NVIDIA web driver? And if the web driver, do you have the latest one for OSX 10.9.5?

Thanks for the response, Dwaine
I'm using the 10.9.5 native driver, because when I loaded the nvidia recommended web driver it screwed up my display - giving me identical (small) windows on both monitors, and I couldn't even sign in. Had to remove the driver using safe mode. (I vaguely remember something like this happening a few years ago, but don't recall what the cause or solution was.)
Currently I load cuda 7.0.29 after any restart or reboot.
My cards are
GTX285 internal
GTX680 x2 in the Cubix.

Seriously I would try pulling the 285 and hooking your monitors to one of the 680, installing latest nvidia driver for 10.9.5 for Mac from nvidia site.
If that works I think the 285 is not helping running it as GUI. I'd get another 680 if you can find one and put that inside the Mac and set it as "use GUI gpu for processing".
I had your issue at some point in the past with the OS asking for cuda reload every time. A later nvidia web driver ended up fixing it. also trying to manually uninstall nvidia driver completely jacked my OS once too.

Thanks Paul - I may give that a try. I'm reluctant to load the web driver AT ALL, given that it hammered me completely last time, but I suppose it's possible the 285 is no longer supported.
(Although the 285 was listed on the Nvidia page that lead me to the web driver that seems to be incompatible.)
The 680s are in an expansion chassis- so using them to drive the monitors won't be practical the way our machine room is laid out - but I could try swapping the 285 for another 680 (which would give me 3!)

So, after swapping in a THIRD 680 as the gui monitor, the problem persisted once the Nvidia driver was loaded, but then resetting the NVRam got me past the log in screen. BUT NOW I have a 'phantom' third monitor I can't get rid of, 'LCD Monitor,' which is, of course the default monitor.
Any clues how to get rid of that?
Thanks in advance.

any chance you can fresh install Yosemite 10.0.4 on a spare test drive with resolve and latest nvidia/cuda everything? sounds like that might clear everything up for you. Decent 240GB SSD are only about $80 and in the end could save you a ton of time troubleshooting...

I always use SSDs, and usually clone the system drive before building a new one or updating a current one, so no problem, however, it's my understanding that 10.10 does not support ATTO 4gig fibre cards, and I don't really want to spend 1000+ for an 8gig card, just to solve this irritating little problem.
Further, my system now has THREE GT 680s, but resolve only acknowledges two of them. I assume this is a shortcoming of the OS. So, I may swap the GUI for a 120 in another machine... though I'm not sure how that will effect After Effects.
I know that once we go to resolve 12, I'll have to fork over for the new ATTO card, so that 'free' upgrade is going to get expensive. Maybe that will solve this weird little problem...
Anyway, thanks for the idea.

what about testing a fresh install of 10.9.5 then? (no clone)
I have heard of users being able to see 3 nvidia cards if one is in mac pro and two are in Cubix. this is true if there is an AMD (5770, etc) card is in mac pro and 2 Nvidia in Cubix. I used to have 4 x AMD 280x in Cubix with Yosemite.
I'm sure AE with a GTX 120 is going to suck. but it must be a lot nicer now with the 680 inside the mac right?
