How can I move Gallery and Projects to another machine?

Hi,

I have a new MacPro with a new Raid. I would like to make a duplicate of the existing projects to the new machine.

Basically, I copy everything in /Library/Applicaiton Support/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve to the new machine in the same folder location.

After I relink the source, I can see the project in my new machine, but all the galleries are black.

I copy the .gallery folder from the old raid to the new raid and make sure the "Media Storage" setting in the preference is pointing to the folder with .gallery in it.

However, all the stills in any project I open are all black.

How can I move the gallery from another machine?

Can you [export] the whole gallery and import in the other side?

Can you export the database including stills and import in the new machine?

Make sure Project Settings / General Options / Working Folders / Gallery stills location is pointing to the new path. This path is stored with the project, and its likely looking in the original location on existing projects you load.

I change the preferences to point to my new storage on the new machine. I also copy the folder "Resolve Disk Database" under "/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve" from the old one to the new one.

Now I get all my gallery back.

But I need to set the path for all the video clips to new location almost one by one, especially for the RED footage since each clip under different folder.

In fact my path is a mirror of the old one, except the raid name is different. Are there any super fast way to just change the raid name in the path, such as editing some preference files or xml files?

You can quickly swap one path to another by using the mapped mount function.

You add the new top folder/drive, and type the old top folder/drive under mapped mount and, then restart resolve. The next time you open the project all paths have changed.
