Hey Guys,

has anyone had issues with Sony's F55 RAW?
Does it work flawlessly with DaVinci? Import, etc.

+ What is the file extension of Sony's Raw (like RED's ".R3D")?

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

I find Raw XAVC files are not ideal for post unless you're prepared to throw lots of high-end hardware at it, particularly disk i/o and fast CPUs. It can work well when transcoded to ProRes 444.

XAVC is not RAW. Sony F55 can capture both Raw and compressed lower bandwidth file ( XAVC)
Sony Raw comes as MXF and enable a Raw Tab in the Camera Raw option.
It works flawlessy on a solid Resolve system. You can import and use straight away without issues.
It's 4K so to get real time you need a 4 GB GPU or more. RED debayer make more use of CPU, Sony seems to be more GPU demanding.

Files are also massive, at least on the f65 raw feature I did so you need tons of fast storage.
