Shall we start a problem list, as Dwaine has requested?

PostTue Jul 28, 2015 12:19 am

I keep getting this pop-up with multiple instances upon starting V12.

Scott, I've seen that message many times on my iMac also on the latest updates. I don't think it's related to Resolve.

I only seem to be getting it with Resolve. I don't think it's simple a Resolve issue, but perhaps an Apple Resolve interaction. Just checking in to see if others are getting this message. Resolve is working great so far on my machine. I'm really please so far. Good work BMD.

Well that did the trick, Peter. I tried just granting Resolve an exception, but that did not work. Don't know how comfortable I am loosing a firewall, though. Is this something that can be "fixed" to maintain a firewall and simply grant Resolve an exception like other software?

Thanks!

Actually for a Mac it's: System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Turn Off Firewall

Selecting "Firewall Options..." allows one to add specific software. As mentioned above, I tried adding Resolve and it didn't work. Had to disable Firewall all together.

Scott - I think the problem is you granted an exception to Resolve. However, the app in question is "DPDecoder.app". Have you tried granting an exception to that app? It's located here:
/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve (at least, it was at this location in previous versions)

Thanks for the tip. However, I have added both DaVinci Resolve.app and DPDecoder.app and I am still getting the message above. Strange. So far, the only way to get rid of it is to disable the firewall. All other apps that have triggered this message before, that I have added, stopped the annoying message.

Puzzling. I think that Rick Lang said he was getting this to, along with others with new(er) macs.

It doesn't happen to me all the time, only once in a while. I don't want to turn off a firewall. Usually I just reboot and then it's fine.

I'm in the same boat, Rick. I'm hoping this minor problem will go away and BMD will figure out how to work around the firewall problem. Unless of course it's more of Apple's control-it-all mentality, and it wouldn't be the first time.
