Davinci Resolve 12 Studio beta1 horror

PostTue Jul 28, 2015 3:36 am

It's horror - workspaces can not be set like in 11 version...
Еdit page - now always two viewers...
Color page - it is impossible to stretch the viewer size like in 11 version...
Many things elsewhere - now need again to spend time learning and to understand what where... why???
Now many things are illogical - not usability.
New font and design - are terrible after 11 version.
As in the past - after adding steel to the group post clip - crash (
And these little windows like in a submarine - in login page - why???
Back of no return ... - horror, DO NOT INSTALL.

Work audio crossfades I did not check - it's just ridiculous that they do not work for many years - instead fades was just plain failure of sound...

Resume - NOT INSTALL, if you do not want to lose a lot of time instead of working.
Need to wait for the normal version. This beta in the color grade - often crash...

You might want to post this in the Resolve section and not in the Post section.

A lot of the things you cite are all covered in the manual. I agree, some of the UI issues made me do a double-take, and some of the changes are (ahem) unusual, but the program does essentially work.

A few things are deal-killers for me, but I'll wait a while before posting that list. I did a 4-minute project last night without any major issue, and am about to start on a 14-minute short in a couple of days. We'll see how it goes.

BTW, there is a button to expand the viewer. Upper right. What I haven't found yet is a keyboard command for it.

It is a beta release; imperfections are expected. Don't install or use beta products if bug free operation is required. Best practice is only use beta programs for testing or familiarization. As always, your millage will vary.
