R12b23 - Media Manager Problems

I've got a couple notes on the Media Manager in R12beta23. I'll post them in this thread.

Problem: When Copying Sequence and trimming media without relinking... Resolve fails to generate an XML to link with the newly trimmed Media

To Recreate:

• Launch the Media Manager

• Select: Timelines > Copy > Enable a timeline > Copy and Trim Media Using 48 frames handles

• Do NOT Select: 'Relink to new files'

• Press 'Start'

• When complete, new media is created with handles but no XML is generated relinking to the new footage.

• If you try to use the 'Relink' command, none of the media is Relinked to... making the new footage useless since the timeline that created it can no longer be recreated with this footage

Expected Workflow:

• As is traditional with other Media Managers in NLEs - if the timeline isn't immediately relinked to the new trimmed footage, an XML is exported that specifically relinks to the new media files.

I'm having trouble understanding what the 'Current Project' vs 'New Project' data calculator is supposed to tell me...

• If it's supposed to tell the New Size of the Current Project?

• The New size of a new project with the Media selected?

In either case, I'm generally finding it reports incorrectly... especially with Copy Timeline commands.

For instance:

• Create a project and populate the media pool

• Create a few timelines and edit a few shots into those timelines

• Launch Media Manager and go > Timelines > Copy

• Set your settings but do NOT select any timelines

• The Media Manager reports the New Project is the same size and the Current Project, even though nothing is going to happen since no Timelines are selected.
