How to fit Resolve on a 4:3 screen?

PostTue Jul 28, 2015 9:01 pm

Hello all,

Just wondering if it's possible to fit Resolve on 4:3 monitor running 1024 x 768 resolution. In my mind, the interface should automatically scale to fit, but it doesn't. I have to run the monitor at 1280 x 720 to get the full window to show, but then everything is a narrow strip across the center. I know it's probably a hilarious question as most people have 16x9 monitors. FYI, I am going to get a 16x9 LCD, but I'd still like to make use of my trusty CRT if possible, at least for the 2nd computer.

EDIT: Why 4:3? I upgraded to a new workstation but kept my old screen (the PC was more important than the screen at the time) and I do all my editing and color correction on a 16 x 9 TV (acting as a secondary monitor). All the programs I have scale perfectly regardless of the monitor's screen resolution, with the exception of Davinci Resolve and Hitfilm (although Hitfilm lets you undock some windows and move them around).

Thanks!
~Adam

Pretty much every professional AV software has a minimum screen resolution requirement nowadays. There's only so many screen elements you can fit on such a small screen.

Thanks Juan. That's too bad, but is understandable, seeing as we live in a 16x9 world.

Toss the CRT out -- dispose of it at an electronics recycling plant.

A new 16x9 1920x1080 GUI DVI display will cost you $150-$200 if you shop around. In truth, I still use an old Dell 4x3 flat screen for my scopes, but that's scopes only.
