Resolve 12 runs better on aging mid 2011 iMac

PostWed Jul 29, 2015 3:47 am

Hey i know everyone is mostly posting about issues and bugs to help make resolve better. but i also wanted to share some of the positives of Davinci Resolve 12 beta 1.

On a mid 2011 iMac with hd radeon 6750 card ( not suited for editing 4k or 2k) or nearly anything else :D

1. I can play back raw 4k footage at 9 fps. (could not do this before, it played at less than 1fps)

2. I can add multiple nodes for color correction so far i tried 6 nodes without changing the resolution to half or quarter, this time my computer didn't crash

3. I actually used noise reduction, i even tried neat video..no crash..

4. The response in Resolve is faster when i'm editing or Color correcting

Thank you BM Engineers. Your work is appreciated

If you investigate caching you'll find you can do even more. :-)

Have a read of this post by Tomasz Huczek: http://timeinpixels.com/2015/01/caching ... i-resolve/

Cool thanks. Do you have any quick tips on that?
