DR12 GUI ISSUES

This post is for GUI related issue. This is what I am experiencing., Will update as I progress
My machine specs:
Mac (27-inch, Late 2013)
3.5 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB
ISSUES:
-Cannot scrub any clips in the media and edit windows
-clips are all h.264 and do not show a preview in the media and edit windows. It does this sometimes, othertimes it shows the clip previews
-All clips that are selected and added into a timeline do not show any previews. They do not play sometimes, othertimes they play. screen shot attached (ss01)
-pressing spacebar to play, or the play button does not play the clip in the edit timeline. It seems like it is frozen. There is nowhere where I can see if there a process going on in the background. I sit here ondering what is going on blindly.
